Systems Engineer

An exciting position has become available for an experienced Systems Engineer to join our Sydney team.

About the role

Automated is seeking a highly motivated and organised Systems Engineer to collaborate closely with our team of engineers and designers to ensure the smooth installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of our systems, providing technical assistance to clients both on-site and remotely.

  • Commissioning, and troubleshooting of lighting control systems.
  • Providing technical support to customers on-site and over the phone.
  • Collaborating with project managers and team members to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Maintaining accurate records of work performed.
  • Continuous learning to stay current with new technologies and industry trends.
  • Designing and implementing software solutions for lighting control systems.
  • Collaborating with team members to identify and resolve defects.
  • Writing technical documentation and improving the development process.
  • Assisting in the design, development, and implementation of lighting control systems
  • Supporting senior team members during system commissioning.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role you will possess, including but not limited to:

  • Strong technical background with experience in electrical systems and/or lighting control preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel across Australia as needed.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 0-2 years of experience in relevant roles.
  • Strong understanding of lighting control systems and associated technologies.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Willingness to travel to job sites across Australia as required.
  • Basic Microsoft Office 365 and SharePoint skills.
  • Familiarity with SimPro (or other CRM), Bluebeam, Microsoft Visio, or CAD is advantageous.
